Ilyssa Lugo is a communications junior at Texas A&M University-San Antonio with a minor in business administration. Originally from Jourdanton, Texas, she graduated from Northwest Vista College with an associates degree in New Media Communications. In her spare time, Ilyssa enjoys singing, writing and spending time with her family. She draws inspiration from her children Senaya, 7, Niviya, 5 and Karlo, who is 10-months-old. After completing the communications program at A&M-San-Antonio, Ilyssa plans to pursue a career in broadcast journalism as a reporter or as a newspaper feature writer.
