Cynthia Teniente Matson, Texas A&M University-San Antonio interim president, will meet 10 a.m. on Dec. 15 in a closed session with faculty and staff in the auditorium of the Central Academic Building. Matson’s first on-campus visit comes exactly four weeks before she officially begins her position as interim president on Jan. 12, 2015.

Matson said Dec. 9 she is “humbled, honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity to lead the Texas A&M-San Antonio community,” in an email forwarded to all students by the office of university communications.

Matson plans to meet with students after the holidays to “start the New Year off with a resounding commitment to student success,” and said she looks forward to working together to create a shared vision in the Texas A&M tradition.
