Slideshow: Students compete in Science Olympiad at Main Campus

The Science Olympiad held a regional competition at Texas A&M University-San Antonio March 21 in the Central Academic Building. A total of 20 teams from middle schools and high schools in Texas tested their ability in the science and technology fields throughout various contests.

This is the fourth year the Regional Science Olympiad was held on campus coordinated by the university’s biology faculty.Teams placing from third to first place move on to the State tournament at Texas A&M University-College Station.

Monica Lamadrid is the Photo Editor of The Mesquite. She is a communications major. Monica graduated from San Antonio College with an associate’s degree in photography in 2013. She was photographer and then Photo Editor in The Ranger, award winning newspaper of SAC, in which she won two awards from the Texas Community College Journalism Association. Monica moved from Mexico to seek a better life and a career in photojournalism.
