Spring Break safety

Traffic safety specialist Mona Lisa Zertuche explains that the only way to be safe while drinking alcohol is to plan ahead to avoid the risk of a DWI. Today is the launch of the “buzzed driving is drunk driving” campaign at the Blue Star parking lot on 1414 S. Alamo.

Spring Break safety is key during this time of year and the Texas Department of Transportation wants to educate you on the seriousness of driving impaired. Members of the “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving” campaign will speak to the public tonight 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Blue Star parking lot, on location the DWI Not So Fun House. Interactive games are available to demonstrate the sensation and effects of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Traffic Safety Specialist Mona Lisa Zertuche said when you plan to drink, plan your Person Appointed to Stay Sober, P.A.S.S.. Zertuche encourages A&M-San Antonio students that “if your drinking, don’t get behind the wheel.”
