Spring and summer graduates can purchase their ring and commencement cap, gowns and tassels during graduation fairs scheduled 2-7 p.m. Feb. 6 and 7 in the Main Campus bookstore.

Bookstore supervisor Cory Rainey said students who miss the fairs can preorder commencement regalia at the university’s Barnes and Noble bookstore until March 1.

The spring commencement ceremony is 6 p.m. May 17 at Freeman Coliseum.

“We’re expecting a big turnout at the graduation ceremony since both spring and summer semester students will be attending,” Graduation Coordinator Dolores Scritchfield said.

Communications Specialist Jill Reddish said approximately 450 graduates received degrees in Fall 2012. Hundreds more are expected to march during the spring ceremony.

The cost for an undergraduate gown, cap and tassel is $42.98. The cost for a master’s gown, cap, tassel and hood is $69.98.

Undergraduate students who have taken 30 credit hours at Texas A&M-San Antonio and have a 3.4 GPA or above can purchase honor cords for $11.98.

Patriot cords are available free of charge to veterans who email Richard Delgado at military@tamusa.tamus.edu.

Rings can be ordered online for the ring ceremony until Feb. 7 and will be delivered to Main Campus before the ceremony scheduled 5 p.m. March 28 on the west lawn at Main Campus.

Gina Garison, Herff Jones sales representative, said rings can range anywhere between $370 up to about a thousand dollars and that students can set up a payment plan with Herff Jones.

To order a ring, logon to herffjones.com/college/tamusa or call (281) 353-2774.
