The university police department will begin issuing parking citations on Sept. 10 to students, staff and faculty who have not purchased a parking permit. Tickets will be issued to vehicles at both Main Campus Building and Brooks City-Base Campus. Parking fines will be $50.

Parking permits can be purchased in the business office in Room 135 of Main Campus. Once purchased, the receipt must be taken to the university police department in Room 120 of Main Campus or Room 156 of Brooks Campus along with proof of insurance and the completed parking permit registration form that can be found on the UPD website.

Parking permits are $60 for the whole year and can be used at either campus.

Patrol Officer Gerardo Duran said the Texas A&M-San Antonio parking permit is “one of the cheapest university parking permits in the area.”

The University of Texas at San Antonio offers a 12 month commuter parking permit for $135.
