As the Spring 2015 Commencement draws closer, graduation traditions continue for Texas A&M University-San Antonio students. One of those traditions includes the ring ceremony.

In past ceremonies, graduating students would cross the auditorium stage to receive their rings. Beginning in 2013 the way students received their rings changed. Now students receive their rings while standing over the university seal. The ceremony also honors all students who purchased their rings during the previous fall semester. University president Cynthia Teniente-Matson gave a speech to students and guests, which explained the symbols of the graduation rings.

Spring 2015 Commencement is at 4 p.m. on May 15 at the Freeman Coliseum.  For more information on graduation, students can contact graduation services for any questions concerning their status on participating in the ceremony.
